Upon arrival, we were shocked by the condition of the room. The walls had visible stains, the bed linen was stained, and even the table used for basic amenities like the tea kettle was unclean and marked. The towels provided were in a poor, unkempt state with loose threads coming out. Most concerning was the bed setup—despite booking a king-size bed, we were given two single beds pushed together, with a noticeable gap in the middle, making it extremely uncomfortable and completely unsuitable for a couple. The mattress itself was low, hard, and far below expected standards. Additionally, the in-room safe (security locker) was not functional. Each time we needed access, we had to call the staff to unlock it, which defeats the entire purpose of having a private security safe in the room. None of these issues were disclosed at the time of booking via Agoda, which makes this a clear case of misrepresentation. What made the situation significantly worse was the behavior of the staff, particularly the individuals who identified themselves to us as Rukhsan and Sujith (assuming these are the correct names, as provided by them upon request). When we raised these concerns, the response was highly unprofessional and dismissive. The manager was rude, made sarcastic remarks, and avoided addressing our concerns directly. Instead of acknowledging the issues or offering solutions, he deflected conversations and responded with irrelevant statements. Both my husband and I felt disrespected and poorly treated throughout the interaction. Despite escalating this to the manager, general manager, and assistant manager, there was no meaningful resolution provided.

We stayed at Velana Beach Hotel, Maafushi during our first wedding anniversary week, and it was honestly one of the best experiences of our life. The location is perfect, very close to the beach, and the room with balcony had an amazing view. The room was completely new, very neat, clean, and well-maintained. Everything inside the room was perfect and comfortable. My wife is a little choosy and very particular about cleanliness, and once she saw the room, she was so happy and satisfied, which made our stay even more special. We really enjoyed the breakfast—the food was tasty and well prepared, and it made our mornings even better. A very special thanks to the hotel team for the beautiful anniversary surprise. They decorated our bed with “Happy Anniversary” written specially for us, which truly touched our hearts and made our celebration even more memorable ❤️ What truly made our stay special was the hospitality. Every single staff member was extremely kind, helpful, cooperative, and welcoming. They always had a smile and were ready to help with anything, which made us feel very comfortable and cared for. My wife enjoyed this place a lot, and she clearly said that whenever we come back to the Maldives, we will blindly book this hotel without even thinking about any other option. Thank you so much to the entire Velana Beach Hotel team for making our first anniversary so memorable. We are definitely planning to visit the Maldives again and stay here ❤️ Highly recommended! 🌊✨

Velana is a budget friendly hotel , very well maintained the staffs are too very polite nd friendly. This property is accessible to beach shops nd restaurants.

This was a short get away with my daughter. Since this was my first time in the Maldives, I initially booked the hotel for one night and then extended it by another night after my positive experience with the first night. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Mohammed Niflar who took a very good care of us during our stay. Totally recommended.
