La Locanda del Conte Mameli

Location is excellent, just 3 mins walk from the pedestrian part of Corso Umberto I where all the restaurants and bars are. Friendly staff speaking good English. Extremely quiet side-street, except when people are returning home 1-4am. Bed was comfortable. Design choices are strange, ex: there's a writing desk but it's impossible to put your legs underneath it, so if you want to work on laptop you must sit at an angle. Safe was tiny, too small for a laptop. Breakfast was good, but in a very dark basement with poor lighting. To me this seemed like a 3-star hotel, not 4.
