Hotel Mar e Sol

I paid a bit more for this oceanside hotel, anticipating a relaxing break with the "spa" amenities listed. Disappointed to find only one of the two 6-person hot tubs was in operation, and it was full most of the Monday afternoon we visited. Robes in the spa were unavailable bc laundry hadn't cleaned them yet. It was hard to find staff to help us, in the spa or in the bar. The room showed signs of wear, but was comfortable, with good water pressure. The exterior, too, looked tired, with two letters on the main hotel sign missing. All in all, for me a good stay, not a great stay.

They have an incredible view from the breakfast area. Please have breakfast there! It is truly an amazing view of the sea! The room was adequate but very small and cramped. The sea view rooms are much better. Front desk staff were not very friendly to this English speaking customer. They had very little clue of anything in English. The maids were great and believe it, spoke English! I would swap them out and then you would really have a great rating. They would be appreciative of the job and have the smile we all look for when traveling.
