25.07.28This was our third stay at the Eurotel Altura (now renamed).
The hotel and room was spotless. Staff are approachable and helpful. Especially the kitchen staff who were so cooperative with our dietary
requirements - we were most
grateful! Good choice of food at breakfast.
The beach is wonderful, a huge long
sandy stretch of endless fine sand, that is great for walking, as well as sunbathing. There is a charge for sunbeds. Personally I think they should be free.
We opted just for BB as opposed to half board we had previously, and were glad we had. The evening meal in the hotel didn't look a patch on what they used to serve, but admittedly we didn't try it. Lots of little eateries nearby to suit all pockets, and great fish.
A major gripe was the room renovations (top 3 floors haven't been renovated yet, but will be by next year). We were in a standard room, which before had adequate storage space, large mirror in main room, decent bedside cabinets with drawers, but simehow wasn't cramped. The new style is now a light wood (synthetic - not sure how durable), minimalist beach style, and new layout seemed to favour a larger bathroom (no bath but walk in shower) which impacted rest of room. We struggled to put our stuff away, in fact I kept dome belongings in my suitcase gor the whole holiday. There simply wasn't room or space with the
new configuration. Also some hooks are desperately needed to hang clothes/ personal belingings in bedroom. Disliked twin beds being pushed together, but there was no option.
I would recommend the hotel, but be aware of limited room storage space, especially if you opt for standard room.
24.06.30The hotel is comfortable and clean, a bit dated, but is in the middle of a refurbishment I'm told.
Great breakfast, comfy bed. Beachfront location.
My only complaint is that housekeeping didn't get round to cleaning/sorting my room till late afternoon. Meaning I had to go in search of essentials (clean towels, toilet paper) in order to get ready to go out in the evening
