24.12.01The facilities at Lifehouse spa and hotel looked great. I was disappointed that the hydro therapy pool wasn’t bigger, I thought it would be a normal size, warm, swimming pool but it was a large version of a jacuzzi pool. I was really looking forward to using it, but it was so busy., I have a Nuro-muscular disease, so was a bit anxious about getting in to the pool with so many people in it. The Salt Sauna was very relaxing, and I hear the cold plunge chamber was very vigorating. All in all it was very relaxing space.
I don’t think the hotel itself was good value. It was a bit shabby in places and there was no fridge or water left in the room, which for a 4 star was a bit poor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would give them a 5 star rating.

24.07.24Lovely adults only hotel and grounds. The Spa was amazing and not overly crowded for our 2 night stay (Sunday to Tuesday). A shame that the salt inhalation room was broken though. There is 1 steam room, 1 sauna, 1 jacuzzi and a decent size pool. Breakfast was really nice. Not many options for lunch/dinner. But plenty of options if you are willing to drive 15 minutes to Clacton on Sea, or you can order for delivery. Hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again

26.03.17We've visited the hotel several times over the years. It use to be a lovely 'treat' place to stay, however its starting to feel run down in places. Thr sauna is in desperate need of new wood (the seats are bowed, and splintered).
The breakfast was disappointing, luke warm coffee from coffee machines (no fresh coffee pots in the place). The juice was clearly squash and not fresh juice, and the fresh fruit advertised was melon... no soft fruits (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries) as pictured. Overall a very basic buffet breakfast similar to that available at holiday inn etc.
Checking in was quick and easy, checking out was ridiculous! No key drop. So you had to wait in line for 15-20 mins to simply hand your key back!
Hopefully they will invest some money and bring it back to its previous standard.
