Loved the hydrotherapy experience Great location Friendly staff and great breakfast

The reason why we stay here is for the spa (£39 ppl for 2 hrs). Rooms nice but feel a little soulless as does the lounge. Breakfast staff v helpful but continental breakfast only, u pay extra for cooked options... which rather puts yr nose out of joint & feels a little mean.

My husband and myself wanted a short break in New Forest and this hotel is just perfect!! It has excellent facilities like spa, swimming pool and gym and hydrotherapy spa. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good. We had a lovely stay and will definitely going back in future.

Spa was very good

The hotel and spa with great as were the general staff. I try to be fair and honest so I I’ll share my experience. Upon arrival my wife and I were most Impressed, the reception stall we’re absolutely amazing and so helpful. We entered the room which was an upgrade and all was ok until we opened the fridge and found a 1/2 empty bottle of milk with a straw left in it. The room was generally ok although slightly dated but the bed was comfy, when I went to hang some things up I decided to put some belongings in the safe but this was left locked with the previous guests code so we had to call for help which did arrive promptly. My biggest problem was our visit to the Zen Gardens restaurant at the hotel where we had booked an afternoon tea and a later booking for an evening meal. We had pre ordered our sandwich's for the afternoon tea as we only wanted cheese which I was told was no problem but salmon sandwiches arrived along with beef. I understand mistakes can be made but when we bought it up we were told we would have to wait another 20 minutes (this was eating into our spa time) but we said no problem. The sandwiches arrived with pickle in with the cheese, how can they get this wrong twice for something so simple!! The sandwiches finally were exchanged (only 4 fingers not 8) but we had had enough by then so ate up and asked for the bill. The bill was £63 which we settled and left. When we went back to our room we looked at the price list and the cream teas were £28 per person so it appears they charged us and additional charge of £7 for our 4 fingers of cheese sandwich’s in place of 8 salmon and beef ones!! I went to reception when I had realised and told I would be credited the £7. I then cancelled the restaurant for the evening as I felt if they take three attempts to deliver a cheese sandwich and then overcharge me there was no way I could trust them for an evening meal. I did however visit a lovely Indian restaurant in the village only a 10 min walk away which I highly recommend called Dynasty Indian. Having stayed in some of the tile spa hotels in the area the Carey spa is by no means bad just I have a few bad experiences!!!!
