The Swan at Tarporley

We had been looking forward to staying in the hotel. Although we’re disappointed to check in and be put in the outbuildings of the carpark. Although the room was nice there were quests or just general quests/general public drinking just under our window, which had to remain open due to the heat in the room. The room was dusty and cobwebs were visible. There was also no way of contacting the hotel for extra milk etc apart from getting dressed and walking over to the main hotel. I did expect having booked a luxury double room to be in the main house. We would return but i would definitely be requesting a room in the main house. Staff were attentive and friendly and food was outstanding

Very friendly and cosy hotel. Room small but very clean. Suited our purposes for one night . Would definitely recommend.

Friendly, obliging staff but the property location is a disaster ! Rooms at the front of the hotel face the main road going through the village. The windows are single paned given the age of the building allowing maximum noise to penetrate the bedroom. A local peculiarity is that the parish church is next to the Swan hotel and the church clock chimes and strikes every 15 minutes DAY and NIGHT. If the traffic doesn’t keep you awake the clock will ! The hotel has done little to soundproof the rooms. My bedroom had a broken shower and did not even have a wardrobe. Avoid !
