26.05.06Honestly it good just like any other 3 star hotel I have stayed before, not a 5 star hotel.
It’s a chain in hotel in Wicklow nothing special about it.
But here some things that bothered me, robes and towels literally deteriorating. Ripped.
Bathroom so dark and it has the saddest bathtub ever for a five star hotel.
The room smelled stuffy
Couldn’t connect my phone to the tv.
Breakfast not bad it’s pretty like airport food bar I would compare.
So it’s over price, plan your trip in advance so u do pay such overpriced hotel.
26.04.27This was our first stay at Druids Glen. As this is a 5 star hotel my expectations were pretty high.
Here is a list of the pros and cons.
Our room was beautiful.
However it had an adjoining room and the sound proofing was very poor.
We could hear every conversation in the adjoining room.
We Asked to be moved and the staff assigned us to another quieter room almost immediately.
Thank you for this .
We ate in the bar. My food was perfect ….no complaints . My husband had the vegetable soup for starter which was very below par for any hotel/restaurant. We were also left waiting 40 mins for our starter and a future 30mins for our main course.
We were not in a hurry so did not mind the delay, but others may have found this to be an issue .
Breakfast was impressive . Although again we had long delays in receiving our coffees . Toast came more or less after we had finished eating.
The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and polite.
I did however feel that the majority of the staff were very young ( possibly students) and inexperienced.
I feel that a mix of more tenured staff should also have been available.
Finally the leisure center.
In general this was not well supervised.
There were children in the jacuzzi although it stated clearly that you had to be 16yrs or over to use.
We saw this happen on both the Saturday and Sunday and the issue was never addressed.
I believe that for a 5 star hotel the sauna and steam room should be located in a more quiet environment…..a little away from the pool.
Seating, whilst available was facing right onto the pool where young children were having swimming lessons.
My husband , for obvious reasons felt uncomfortably sitting facing a group of young girls taking classes.
Having a seating area away from the pool would be beneficial.
I hope that this review will be of benefit.
Thank you .
