26.01.26Now for context I've stayed in at least 20 hotels last year+each and everyone has been good or great but this one really disappointed. Insially the smell of chlorine as you enter the expansive reception area was not very welcoming a very pungent. Rooms nice enough, spacious and actually clean.
Biggest issue was the breakfast....now ok we were down at 9.40 (breakfast served till 10am) but having asked for scrambled egg and being told it wasn't available(???)yet each of us were given a fried egg? Surely the chef could scramble said eggs;is this not what culinary school is for??? There were only 4 other people in the whole breakfast room not like they were run of their feet? The rest of the fry was so over cooked and leathery it was embarrassing.I appreciate it's the end of the breakfast serving but really?? Heard good things about the McWilliam and was really looking forward to my stay but I'd defo not eat there again.
25.03.09We recently stayed at The McWilliam Park Hotel and, unfortunately, our experience was not as expected. As a family with a child with autism, we requested a silent room and a room on the second floor to accommodate his needs. However, it seemed as if our requests were completely ignored. Instead, we were given a room that was neither silent nor on the requested floor.
The cleanliness of the room was also an issue—our carpet was dusty, which was quite unpleasant. While the food in the restaurant was excellent, and breakfast was enjoyable, the service in other areas of the hotel did not meet expectations.
The worst part of our stay was a serious breach of privacy: a member of the housekeeping staff opened our door without knocking and found my wife undressed. This was incredibly distressing and unacceptable.
Overall, while the dining experience was great, the lack of attention to special requests, cleanliness issues, and the shocking invasion of privacy made our stay very disappointing. I hope management addresses these issues to prevent future guests from having a similar experience.
