Princess

This was a high-class hotel with helpful staff, but had notices all over the place saying guests couldn’t consume any food or drinks from ‘outside’ anywhere in the hotel - even in the gardens! I’ve never come across this before, especially in a place that doesn’t even supply bottled water or tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. I suppose it is meant to force people to use their minibar or restaurant, but these were expensive and the restaurant/bar didn’t actually have three of the first items I ordered. My room had a very nice balcony, but it was forbidden to relax with a drink and a snack there! Fortunately, this rule is actually unenforceable - unless they stop and search everyone entering the hotel or do nighttime raids on the rooms - but I suggest they just do away with this bizarre restriction completely.
