Anchor Bay Motel Greenwell Point

Beautiful views, spacious. Good water pressure in the shower. Room 10 had a nice outdoor sitting area on the veranda with excellent views of the river. Excellent casting system from phone to smart TV, which was the easiest set-up we’ve encountered. The room was an ordinary motel room, a little dated. I awoke in the morning with a cockroach crawling up my leg, but my wife who is from NSW assures me that this is not unexpected. (❔) There was insect spray in the cupboard though and my sandal worked a treat. I agree this could happen anywhere. However, all in all, we’re glad we found a reasonable price on Agoda for $*** because anymore would not be value for money. You can only play the “location location location” card so far when it is really an old but tidy motor inn. The business did not respond to emails with “booking direct for less” enquiries and the website was more expensive. If booking through Agoda, be aware that the reception was expecting us to be able to self check-in with a key safe and we hadn’t been provided with any details. We were cheerfully let in by a manager/staff member at 3:30pm on a Thursday but had unexpectedly disturbed him in his residence. We would stay again at the right price.

Although it's a bit far from town, it's very quiet and comfortable. The basic amenities are all provided, though there didn't seem to be a microwave, which was slightly inconvenient for heating up simple meals. We arrived quite late, but the staff had left the key for us, so both check-in and check-out were very convenient.

My friend and myself stayed here for 3 nights. Very sucluded area so was lucky we had a car hired. Check in was slightly confusing as you need to press the ring door bell but there was no instructions to do this, however once this was done it was an easy process. The only interaction we had with staff was a cleaner that we passed. Rooms slightly dated but overall it worked well for us and we enjoyed our stay
