24.08.04My stay at Daintree Wilderness Lodges was one of the highlights of my four-week trip to Australia. The lodges are nestled in the middle of the rainforest, surrounded by nature. It was pure bliss.
The general manager's warm welcome set the tone for my stay. He introduced me to the environment and the forest, clearly demonstrating his own love for the place. Every staff member was kind and made an effort to connect with me, ensuring I felt very welcome. Their outstanding hospitality was evident in every interaction.
The lodge I stayed in was cozy yet modern, and warm, exuding a natural, tranquil vibe. It came equipped with air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a comfortable large bed and all the amenities you'd expect from a hotel room. The shower was a standout because one wall of it was basically only window, so you are showering with a great view, as if in the forest. The secluded location of the lodges and the forest itself made sure you could still be private when showering. With only seven lodges, peace and quiet were guaranteed. It was simply blissful.
The small, cozy restaurant with a bar offered delicious vegetarian options. A small breakfast was included with the room, which, although I wished it were a bit larger, was sufficient to start the day.
There was an issue with the payment of the room rate, but it was resolved swiftly before I left.
I highly recommend experiencing Daintree Wilderness Lodges. It's the perfect place to wind down and connect with nature, offering a refreshing change from everyday life. I wish I could have stayed longer than two nights. The experience felt more like a four-star resort than a three-star one.
