Thanks to Russ and Irene for the friendly service and amazing breakfasts during our 2N stay. Mr Howard, the cat, provided good company too.

When we arrived , there was no one to meet us, so we strolled around to the back of the property. After a few minutes the owner appeared only to greet us that he was 'three minutes late'(It was actually much more than that) He then went on to tell us of all his troubles about the previous guests, he'd had a calf stolen, etc etc, and 'Be sure to check our feet if we came in from outside, as we may have duck poo in them" It was all a bit like being at Fawlty Towers!! Our room was very pleasant and clean, no worries there. He had also had a nice afternoon tea which we could help ourselves to. We given times for breakfast at 15 minute intervals, When we arrived we were shown a table, and the fruit cereals etc to start with, which were all very tasty and nicely presented. The only problem was, as soon as we sat down to start eating we were asked what hot food we wanted. This hot food came very quickly, we really didn't get a chance to enjoy the first part of the meal at all. The hot food was very nice and well presented, except the toast under the eggs was extremely hard. We were also given croissants, not even asked if we wanted them, and we don't eat them. The hosts never said 'Goodmorning" or engaged in any conversation with us at all. To top it all off, when we were ready to leave, we went to their kitchen door to say goodbye, the lady spoke to us, but her husband never even looked up from his phone. This is a nice place to stay, although it is a little isolated, the gardens are lovely. The hosts weren't lovely in any way, we have never been treated so rudely at a bnb before. His problems weren't our problems, if he had them, as a host it is common sense to show courtesy and manners to your guests. We would never go there to stay again.

Glencoe is a real traditional style b and b, set in lovely grounds in a quiet area. I stayed in the "red room" which was just gorgeous and very comfortable. Shared lounge and dining room were very pleasant. The breakfasts were generous and cooked to order with plenty of choice. Definitely recommend!

Best location between Sheffield and Devonport. Hosts are very welcoming and attentive. Will definitely go back again.

What a find! Such a beautiful place to stay. We highly recommend this bnb. We would love to return again.
