Incredibly rude and hostile receptionist. Upon arrival, as a first time guest, was scolded for booking through an app instead of the website (???) because booking com takes a cut, but "you don't care about that". Apparently using an app to find and book a place is a mortal sin. Was treated as if I was immediately a bother and had personally aggreived the lady somehow. Ive never left negative reviews but the behavior here was an absolute disgrace. Worst ever in 100+ hotel stays. The place itself otherwise was good and the one other staff member I saw was totally normal. If you see the eyepatch lady though, run.

We had an amazing stay at Ford House, it’s in a beautiful setting with manicured gardens, lots of wild life, and beautiful rooms which were clean and welcoming, a real credit to the staff at ford house, thank you for your hospitality.

Unique bed and breakfast experience in a 129yr old house that was traditionally furnished. Home cooked breakfast with home baked bread. Lovely garden next to the river. Only drawback was a shared bathroom but that didn’t detract the the overall experience.
