Buffelsdrift is a great experience and there is a lot to see and do. However, the region can get seriously hot and that makes it a bit more challenging. Generally, everything is pretty good to great. However, the tents and can get very hot and the air-cons are unable to cool it down sufficiently during the day. Also, to make the air-con work, you have to close the tent flaps so it is dark inside with no view. You essentially have to pick, view and hot, or slightly cooler with no view. There is also virtually no shade at the pool in the afternoons. If you can deal with heat, then it is a pretty cool experience.

We absolutely loved our two night stay in the lodge. We travelled with our two young children (aged 3 and 5) and stayed in a luxury family tent. From the minute we stepped into the lodge we knew we were staying somewhere very special. The view from our tent of the lake and nearby hills was beautiful, and we could lie in our beds watching the buck right outside our tent. We even spotted a giraffe about 50m away! Lying in bed at night listening to the birds, hippos and buck was just amazing. Every staff member we met was so friendly, helpful and welcoming to us and our kids. The food was superb (we ate in the restaurant both nights). We did the elephant experience and a night drive, and both were absolutely incredible!! We really can’t wait to return, next time for longer!! I’d 100% recommend this beautiful place to anyone!

I booked the property by mistake 2 months in advance and the team here cancelled the booking without any deductions though the cancellation terms meant 100% could have been forfeited. Transparent and responsive.

Was such a wonderful experience. Food was excellent. Staff was so sweet and tents was such a good experience. I’ve never had an encounter with an elephant. I will never forget the majestic animal and there calm eyes. Everything was perfect. Thank you.

Wonderfully comfortable accomodations and breakfast. Unfortunately no animals on the game drive except for a few bok.
