We had a lovely experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is also very beautiful and makes you feel like you are put in nature somewhere, not in the city. I was expecting at least some coffee-making facilities, but there was nothing like that in the tent. No fridge either. Just a bed and cupboard. The shower could do with a good clean. Also, if you are a light sleeper you will likely not be able to sleep here. You are able to hear everything from the other tents, which was bothersome to us (people come in late and woke us up). Also, there is a donkey farm close by. The donkeys make terrible noise at night and kept waking us up. Overall, the place is lovely, however. I did feel the price was a bit much for what you get, though.

Rating: 1/5 Amadwala Lodge has the potential to be a gem, but it is currently being ruined by a total lack of ownership and professional standards. From the moment you arrive, it is clear that there is zero commitment to maintenance, cleanliness, or guest safety. Cleanliness & Maintenance: The hygiene standards are unacceptable. We encountered dusty corners, unserviced thatch roofs, and spider webs throughout the living areas. The towels provided were so worn out that they weren’t even fit to be used as mud rugs. Functional maintenance is equally poor; shower pipes are unserviced and failing to work properly. Outside, the pool is filthy and neglected, surrounded by broken pool chairs that are a genuine safety hazard. The entire property feels like a risk due to this persistent lack of care. Service & Facilities: The lack of passion from the staff is staggering. A lot of training is needed, from security through to management, to understand basic hospitality and value for money. The kitchen shows so little commitment that guests are forced to order food from outside. The bar is poorly stocked with nearly empty bottles, and the barman’s lack of personal hygiene was off-putting. The gardens, which should be a highlight, are completely overgrown and ignored. The Exceptions: The only reason this isn't a zero-star review is thanks to two specific staff members: the gentleman who took our breakfast/dinner orders and the young man at reception. They were the only ones showing any level of commitment in an otherwise unprofessional environment. Final Verdict: The owners need to wake up and invest in their staff and infrastructure. Until there is a mindset shift toward sustainability, development, and basic cleanliness, I strongly advise travellers to look elsewhere. This is not value for money; it is a safety hazard.
