Hotel Top Five

I arrived past when reception closes at midnight, but after calling ahead I found that there was still someone on site to check me in. I thought my room would have AC but it only had a mounted fan. As it turned out, I didn't need the former in September. Breakfast goes until 10 (I didn't realize it was included in the cost for several days) and is pretty good. There have been a few bugs in my room (no mosquitos, they do have a net), but I don't think that experience is different from anywhere else here. The hotel is close to a main road (but offset so it hasn't interrupted my sleep). It was initially hard to sleep with a 0600 wakeup call from a high-pitched bird, but I learned to sleep through it. It's a few minutes' walk to a mall with several ATMs and a big grocery store. It's a short taxi ride from here to downtown and other sights. The highlight is definitely the staff: they are friendly, courteous, and helpful. They looked out for me when I thought about extending my stay.

Double room is smaller than a normal single room. No warm water, they say you wait for a few minutes after turning on the heater and water, I waited for hours but all in vain. Apart from that, they're fine. Staff, location, breakfast.
