Casa 69

We loved this quaint, beautiful little hotel, just a few blocks from the main tourist area of San Jose. Great restaurants are just a few blocks away, as are all the tourist sites. But it is just far enough away to be less noisy. The owner is an extremely charming German man who now lives here and in Colombia, and is fascinating to talk with. One safe parking spot right in front can be reserved in advance. The breakfast was great, and the staff all spoke great English (and German) and were wonderful.

Lovely bed and breakfast in San Jose. We spent 1 night here before heading to La Fortuna and it was just what we needed. A beautiful garden, delicious breakfast, and within walking distance to many local eating spots. And secure parking! Thanks to Winston for hosting us!

We had a great stay at Casa 69. The location is perfectly situated between downtown and Barrio Escalante on a quiet back street, with about a 10 mins walk to either. The room was really spacious and comfortable. We arranged an airport transfer with the hotel at $30. Winston and his staff really look after their guests and cook a delicious breakfast. The hotel is quite close to a train track and you do hear the trains however all the positives make up for this.

The vibe is like a hotel in the garden. The area isn't the greatest on the outside. But once you enter the property the beauty and environment is serene. The staff was incredible. Breakfast was one of the best I've had and I've been a commercial chef for 15 years. Highly recommend. This place is so cool!

Not totally in love with San Jose, but Kurt and Winston are superb hosts and I enjoyed a comfortable stay in good company!
