Amritara Shalimar Spice Garden Resort & Spa

When my husband and I arrived, we were greeted with head tikkas and a joyous welcome. Upon entering the property, we immediately felt at ease. The character and charm of this resort are truly unique. If you like shiny, modern things, this may not be for you — but if you enjoy a warm, inviting, eclectic style, this is it. The resort is set amongst a spice plantation, with lush gardens surrounding the villas. The rooms are generously sized, with a comfy bed and a soft sofa to relax on. The pool is a pleasant spot to sit, unwind, and enjoy a good book. Afternoon tea is served daily with cardamom cookies — yum! The buffet breakfast offers plenty of variety, and while the dinner buffet is also wonderful, it is pricier than what you’ll find at nearby restaurants in Thekkady. I opted for an in-house massage (Indian style, so prepare to be soaked in oil!), and we also enjoyed the spice garden tour. The staff were all amazing and incredibly helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay — so much so that we booked an extra night. Highly recommend this place.

Nice ambiance , quite and beautiful ..

Food was horrible with very less options and price is high, Taste was not upto the mark. You will get bore very easily.No play area for kids even the small circus steps are broken and rusty, carrom board is very old and even chess board was also worst.Swimming pool was not clean, i suggest not to go here better

Comfortable stay. Convenient location. Safe parking available. Outstanding staff. Would love to visit again for sure.
