25.11.30Our experience at Les Salons in Château St. Gerlach was shockingly unacceptable — especially for a Michelin-star restaurant.
Despite clearly stating multiple times that we are strict vegetarians, the restaurant served us the non-vegetarian tasting menu, including fish. We unknowingly ate it until we pushed for ingredient details, and only then did they admit the mistake. For lifelong vegetarians, this isn’t a small oversight — it’s a serious breach of trust and respect.
What made it worse was the response. Instead of apologising, the staff initially tried to downplay the issue and make it seem like we misunderstood. The sous-chef even came out to justify the mistake rather than take accountability. This attitude is the opposite of what one expects from a Michelin-star kitchen.
Our anniversary dinner was completely ruined. We had to walk out mid-meal and find food elsewhere late at night with our 2-year-old child. The carelessness and dismissiveness we experienced were unbelievable for a place that claims such high standards.
