Lots to do and was a beautiful place to stay. So close to the snow.

Despicable service. been charged for a booking for this weekend we didn't end up using as last week they couldn't find any record of it

The hotel is the best spot for a short hike to the Taranaki Falls, a climb to Ruapehu, skiing at the Alpines or taking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing adventure. The hot pool is the best place to go to after a day of activities. The movie room and lounge are best for relaxing! We enjoy staying here every year!

Not enough trained /supported staff who knew what they were doing. I guess /hope that is understandable. Mixed approach from staff! Interesting! Great assortment and choice at the breakfast buffet. Good Value. Reduced price of the cabin attractive but wouldn't come if the price is is increased. Absolute muddle over my booking - my name and someone else's from Bangkok there, my attempts before I arrived to sort it out over the phone stymied ! curb the advertising. When you're hanging on waiting and waiting it's a total turn turnoff. Lots more I could offer/suggest but given the limitations we experienced keep the price reasonable and it will survive.

It does have very unique location having all big famous mountains around. We enjoyed landscape so much. The hotel inside fitting and fit our are old and unique. A lot of old artworks. The room was small but clean. The high tea was good especially the savoury part. We tried swimming pool and sauna which were nice and clean too, no one else there. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the steak from restaurant. They seemed not so good at cooking perfect medium rare steak; even worse, they tried to debate a well-done steak was a medium rare steak, which was very unprofessional. The other dishes were fine.
