26.01.23Units are not well kept. Found dead insects in kitchen and bathroom. Requested two twin beds, but only offered one queen bed, even when confirmation stated and acknowledged the twin beds in reservation.
26.01.06 First of all, the hotel didn’t respond to my emails, either through Agoda or their official email. I asked about the late check-in process and ended up confused because there was no reply.
When I arrived, the man at the reception desk was not friendly at all. Even though it was New Year’s, he didn’t take a moment to welcome us and instead seemed annoyed by the questions I asked. This was disappointing, especially since my trip in Kaikōura had been very enjoyable overall.
The back door of the room was made of clear glass, which felt very uncomfortable as people were walking past. The shower temperature also kept changing between hot and cold. Kitchen equipment like the kettle didn’t look properly cleaned.
The location is also quite far. There are many other motels closer to the city or right by the beach that are much better.
