As I wanted to stay in the center of Alexandria, this hotel was the obvious choice - I was not disappointed. Also the historical charm of the hotel is a definite attraction. All the staff were professional and nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and extremely clean. The breakfast, served at the rooftop restaurant was very good with a good selection of pastries. I would definitely book this hotel again. I travelled as a solo woman and never felt unsafe at the Le Metropole hotel, nor in the location around the hotel.
