Absolutely loved it 🤩

Beautiful hotel and location. Felt the fact check in when you have a dog was in full view of the restaurant a bit awkward as had to wait while staff served restaurant and bar customers. We didn’t check in till after six due to being out hiking but were unable to settle in and get turned round straight away as found our room door wedged open with a pillow and when went to have a shower there was a light bulb out and the light cover and spare bulbs were left on the sink. No phone or way to contact reception so again had to go back down and wait to alert someone to see if safe to use. Once alerted staff were very good apologetic and placed cover on a shower could be used. The fire was also at that point not working this was due to the ket we were provided not working. Eventually turned round to try and attend restaurant for evening meal found replacement key card not working and had to again que to get another one of the door was locked on our arrival we would have known there was an issue. 20:40 and eventually got down for evening meal prices were acceptable found was at a push 5/10, staff were very good. Breakfast the next morning food was far better. Summing up I think given the price the experience should of and could of been much better brilliant location and stunning building but should not be arriving to a room not fit for use we spent much of our evening sorting this really. I have stayed here previously and experience and restaurant then was far better I think it’s changed hands wouldn’t be in a rush to repeat given this experience.

The hotel is a bit dated but very well maintained. There are 3 of us so the room given is spacious and lovely. Location wised it is cool.. Kind of in the middle of Lake District hence it is easy to go anywhere.

The hotel rooms can be quite confusing. There are a number of stairs up and down to go, like a small maze. But room was clean and spacious. Hotel breakfast was great and view around the hotel was lovely. We took a stroll around and really enjoyed the calming lake. But parking was limited.
