Can't honestly complain all that much due to the price paid and, relatively speaking, the quality of the stay; I figure I am way too picky in my expectation of a five-star experience no matter the place. Sheets that have even minimal staining have no place on a bed in which I (or anyone) is sleeping. I appreciate the limited space for a standard room, but a bathroom sink the size of a table spoon (exaggeration for effect) is not acceptable. The overall room could use a detailed cleaning every now and again. All that said, I understand that this place stands out as a better place to stay that is located so well for those who, for instance, are attending a convention center event. The management is attentive, parking is easy (though not included in stay)- A similar property I have patronized in the past had a WAY off-site parking lot that proved to be a MAJOR pain in the rear AND this place has a human at the desk 24/7, unlike some others.I appreciate the dedication to keeping up an historical property and all its charm (love the mural on the building's side facing the parking area). The extras are commendable, such as breakfasts and evening wine events. All in all, despite my less than perfect score, this place is one of the best in its class, perhaps THE best and I highly recommend it.
Close to the "action" along Pine St., and within a 15 minute walk of the Convention center area and surrounding restaurants, etc. While very clean and functional, I will note that the room I had (a single) was very small, no surprise given the property's past history as what I suspect was an old fashion "residential hotel". So, while I had no issues with the room or service, and the staff was great, I will note that I felt it is was a bit small for the amount charged. If you want somewhere funky to stay, and don't mind paying a bit of a premium, this should work for you.
