Reasonable price and nice location, practical facilities.

Stayed there with my parents who were here on a visit and extremely disappointed by the rude staff at the reception. We wanted to extend our room for another day since our flight was late evening - the receptionist told us that we can move to a smaller room and also took the room charge for this extension. However, the next day when we were supposed to move rooms, the other receptionist on duty was EXTREMELY rude to me and my parents. She told us they cannot accommodate 3 people in the smaller room - which maybe their policy - but since this was a miscommunication from their end , she had to right to be rude and unruly to us. We had been staying there since 3 days, were non problematic paying customers and the audacity of the staff to be obnoxious was uncalled for. They should train their junior staff better to avoid such miscommunication or atleast be gracious or polite and apologetic about their miscommunication. Definitely felt like an unnecessary (slightly racist) behaviour. Not recommended for tourists with a family/ elderly parents.

The night carer asked me to leave my room at 1.30am because I was talking with an aboriginal friend who came to visit me for a chat. Disconcerting!

I had just one night here and staff were very helpful with suggestions where to eat etc, and also supplied me with ice cubes and crockery for my takeaway meal. There is a swimming pool, a guest laundry and a complimentary continental breakfast. The property is about 15 minutes on foot from Cairns Central.

Rooms and toilets were really clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and gave us plenty of suggestions on tours while being mindful of our budget. May be a bit of a distance from the town centre but that also means less noise and traffic. Will love to stay again if I'm back in Cairns!
