I booked through Agoda, where they must have only recently been added and only 19 reviews. Go read Google reviews before booking. If I had have been prepared for a basic hotel, I probably would have been happy enough, but definitely not what I was expecting from the previous high reviews. The hotel itself is very old, tired, and uninspired. The windows were very dirty, with a huge crack across one of ours. The bathroom was weirdly huge, but pointlessly so; the additional space hadn't been used to add any value. One of the reasons I chose this hotel over Stracta was because the Double Room said it had a bathtub, and I thought a bath after cold day out exploring Iceland would be nice - I can't speak for all the rooms, but ours definitely didn't have a bath. There were no toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap bar, etc), just a liquid soap dispenser on the wall. There was a hair diffuser though, which I was pleasantly surprised by (very rare to find in a hotel!) - if only there were products to wash my hair with in the first place. Breakfast was ok; cereal, toast, fruit. I was impressed on the first morning when there was a large stack of crepes (I love crepes!!), but the second morning had no hot foods and was overrun by a huge school group; it felt like a feeding frenzy, so we left and came back an hour later when they had almost finished. Obviously I understand that they were all just having breakfast, I'm just not used to staying at places with school groups. The staff were all lovely and friendly, and absolutely wanting to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The hotel itself is just very lacklustre
