26.03.02 Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable.
For both nights of my stay, I was unable to sleep properly due to an apparent issue with the bed sheets. From the moment I got into bed, I experienced constant itching, which strongly suggests that something was wrong with the bedding. As there was no immediate solution available, I was left with no choice but to sleep on my own towels without any blankets to cover myself.
In addition, there was a persistent noise coming from outside the bedroom window area. To clarify, I am not referring to hallway noise, but a constant disturbance from outside that made it very difficult to rest.
The cleanliness of the property was also unacceptable. The bedroom's shelves were dusty, and the condition of the bathroom, as well as the overall state of the accommodation, was extremely poor.
26.03.25 I booked a room for one night on 21/03 for the Asian Cup final. I checked in to an 8 bed dorm that afternoon and took the only bed that was free. After being in the room that afternoon, I left to go to the game. I then returned that night to discover that my belongings (which I'd left on the bed to signal that it was taken) had been removed by staff and someone else put in that bed. I had to wake the poor person in my bed, who had no idea what was going on, to ask if they knew where my stuff was and they didn't know. All 8 beds in the dorm were now taken and with a key only for that room I had nowhere to go and ended up having to just stroll around Sydney all night till my flight the next morning.
Luckily, I discovered my belongings at reception so I was able to grab those (no attempt at all was made by the hostel to contact me about any of this of course).
Despite paying for a bed for the night I was instead made to wander the streets all night. I've never had such an atrocious experience with anywhere I've stayed and I'll be avoiding this place like the plague and advising others to do the same. Absolutely piss poor.
