The cabins are comfortable and spacious and the kitchen is well equipped.

Because we want to be able to come back! Originally a ski chalet, but as a summertime retreat this is a perfect this is a family hideaway, close enough to Canmore for convenience, an hour from Calgary, but separated from the masses of prefab lodges that clog the highway. Trail heads, beautiful scenery, and a layout of about 50 chalets that somehow manages to keep the illusion of solitude. The staff is skeletal but helpful, don't come if you're expecting meals or breakfast, there is a little line for the hot tub, and gym was under reconstruction, but the deluxe chalets have cooking equipment , plenty of hot water, nice bedrooms.

Just 9 minutes drive from Canmore but you get your own home! What else you need? The price for such property is amazing.

Banff Mountain Gate resort is the perfect getaway stay. The location is close enough to the town Centre but nestled away from the crowds. We have small children and it made a difference to not pack all the extra kitchen appliances. The layout is perfect - a little dated but we didn’t mind as it gave the perfect cabin feels. Can’t wait to stay here in the winter months!
