25.10.01Hotel is somewhat in need of refurbishing. Value comes from location.
25.09.16The hotel is a prime location. It has Anchorage's best seafood restaurant across the street, art galleries and a great selection of shops are within walking distance.
Rooms were clean but severely dated, like decades old. Bathtub had no hand rails nor a tub mat provided.
I would not recommend this property until there are updates done.
25.09.14Our stay at the Westmark Anchorage was average. The coffee maker in the room was leaking, which was disappointing.
25.09.11Pros:
We had a room on a high floor so our view was amazing. Beds were decent. Bathroom was decent but had no ventilation and threadbare furnishings.
Cons:
Room was crammed with very limited walking space. And we got the same cold breakfast everyday (bread, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice) which started only after 7 and they wouldn't provide us with a packed one if we had to leave earlier to catch our train. Considering that most people would stay at this hotel because of it's proximity to the train station and those trains leave either at 6.30 or 8.20 am in the morning, it's difficult to understand why management hasn't done anything about it.
25.09.11A couple and a friend traveled to Alaska. We made a mistake booking the wrong dates and had to extend by 1 day. The hotel could not support with this and we had to book 1 night on another site, which cost a lot. However they let us keep the same room during our consecutive stay. The guest services had some nice and some less nice workers. Rooms were great. Breakfast was not good.
