26.04.19I stayed at La Passion Hanoi for two nights (12–14 April) following a trip back from Sapa. Overall, it was a pleasant stay characterized by excellent hospitality and a prime location, though there were a few minor hitches with the room facilities.
Check-in & Room Experience:
I had informed the hotel in advance that I would be checking in late due to my travel schedule from Sapa. Upon arrival, I was initially assigned a room on Level 2. As this is the same floor as the spa, it felt a bit less private with public/patron access. Additionally, the bathroom lacked a ventilation fan. The staff were very accommodating when I requested a change, and they successfully moved me to a much better room on Level 5 for my second night.
Room Amenities & Considerations:
• Maintenance: In the second room, the toilet floor trap was choked, requiring me to remove the cover manually for the water to drain.
• Entertainment: The TV had a good variety of cable channels.
• Noise Level: As the hotel faces the main road, expect some city noise. The local "morning chorus" of horns starts around 7:00 AM, which is typical for the Old Quarter but good to note if you are a light sleeper.
Dining & Service:
The breakfast was decent and provided a solid start to the day. I particularly enjoyed the made-to-order Egg and Pho stations, which added a nice local touch. The staff truly stand out here—they are friendly, enjoy making small conversation, and are always ready to offer help with a smile.
Location (The Biggest Plus):
The location is unbeatable for travelers coming from Sapa:
• Transit: It is only about 150m from the HK Busline drop-off, making it a very easy walk with luggage. There is also a public airport bus stop nearby.
• Sightseeing: You are within easy walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake, the Hang Dao Night Market, and the heart of the Old Quarter.
• Food: Plenty of great local food options are right at your doorstep.
Value for Money:
While the stay was comfortable and the amenities sufficient, the price point felt slightly higher compared to other similar properties in the immediate area. However, for the convenience of the location and the quality of service, it remains a strong choice.
Summary: A reliable and friendly base in Hanoi. If you value being close to the action and easy transport links, this is a great pick.
26.04.16The location is very close to Hoan Kiem Lake and the walking street. The staff are very nice, and the room felt safe for a solo traveler. If I travel to Hanoi again, I will definitely book this hotel again.
