민슈쿠 긴마츠

The host was helpful and friendly. There was no hot water or shower on the second floor, where we were staying. The stairs were very steep and treacherous. The bath towels were half the width of American towels, thin, and not particularly absorbent. When we arrived at the guest house, the host informed us that we had to pay in cash, which we hadn't been expeting as it was posted nowhere on the reservation.

We stayed at the family suite and the room was HUGE! It felt very homey and we had a great time there

Good value for money. The owner made us feel warmly welcomed. The location is great, specially if your going around Higashi Chaya District.

If you wanted to live in Japan, this accommodation is the residence to give you a first hand experience at what it’s all about. Authentic in every way and the hosts fit in perfectly with your experience. I my opinion, the accommodation is in the best part of town near the river and the geisha district. You will live a life that knows no high rise or pretentious opulence. Please remember that some accommodation is on the first level and the stairs are tricky to navigate.

Was very clean, staff were so kind. Loved the traditional Japanese room. Only thing is we had shared bathroom and the shower was downstairs. There is also little to no sound proofing and you can here other customers conversations.
