You never know what kind of roommates you will get.

I had my 9 nights package deal and was fully paid upfront for an accommodation with AC and a private shower. However, the owner, Mr Shanti didn't provide me with what I paid for, and decided to put me in a domitory with 8 girls sharing four bunkbeds, shower house in a minute walk away, also AC only works three hours with every 100yen inserted. That's absurd! I showed him my confirmation and what's written on the purchase! At first he said it's his mistake about overbooking so I have to compromise by staying in the dormitory, and then he said he looked up again and doesn't agree with the flash deal, so I am staying in the dormitory. He asked me to claim my money back from Agoda, because it wasn't his idea nor his responsibility. He even tell other guests to keep out of this matter as I tried to seek assistance from other Japanese who can speak English, yet no hope! The owner didn't apologise nor offer me any compensation till this date, and I only received emails from Agoda CS about not being able to reach the owner. Duh! Just make sure you book your accommodation as early as two months in advance to stay nearer the pier/town unless you are a big fan of nature, ie flying ants, mosquitoes, spider webbs, toads, frogs, crab, mud etc... I love all islanders and everything in Ogasawara, just this Mr Shanti is really a shameless man.
