Fine check in. Lots of hair in the bathroom, so wasn’t cleaned very well.
The location is very handy for my Penn State visits, a short walk to campus. And the price is very agreeable.
Unfortunately we didn't get to use our room except to place our luggage and use the bathroom. We had a family emergency and had to check out around 9pm before getting to enjoy the room and king size bed.
The location is fantastic! Free parking a major plus.
My room was clean and updated . My only, but big complaint was that my room had an odor that hit you in the face the second you walked in. I managed to deal with it as I only had a one night stay. Even though I had a non-smoking room, the odor of stale cigarettes was evident. And, I guess some product was used to cover it up and added to the odor
The location of the property is excellent, as it's easily walkable to the University (less than 5 minutes) and right in the heart of downtown. The free parking is also a perk. However, the cleanliness of the hotel left a lot to be desired. The HVAC unit was filthy, and I had to take a few minutes to wipe the dust off the interior of the unit. The shower/tub drained poorly, which didn't make for the best bathing experience. It was advertised as having "free breakfast", but unlike many of the options in the area which include a full breakfast, this was coffee/tea, a few juice options, and Otis Spunkmeyer muffins. There were no hot breakfast options. On the plus side, the bed was quite comfortable.
