Sen Guesthouse

Really nice house, view is amazing, and the hosts are really nice and very helpful and happy to give advice on what to do and where to go. The location is a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car or a bike to get around, so just have to make sure you plan ahead for meals and day plans.

The guesthouse had a beautiful view. The hosts were also very accomodating and welcoming. There are not many buses that come to this end of the island so having a rental car would be recommended.

Home is far away from the port but the location is superb for a quiet getaway with beautiful view of the Seto Inland Sea. Wave is so calm as if it’s a lake. Thanks to the 60 steps climb, home is perch high up with superb balcony view. Great place to have breakfast / coffee or a place just to take in the nature surrounding. Wish we could stay there longer and really unwind from hectic city lifestyle.

We had such a great time at Sen Guesthouse - it was the perfect retreat on Shodoshima for our group of four. The serene location offered stunning views of the Seto Inland Sea and was a delightful spot to relax. The guesthouse was impeccably clean and thoughtfully designed, creating a cozy atmosphere. The hosts were super friendly and gave us great tips for exploring the island—and their homemade beer was a nice bonus! If you’re heading to Shodoshima, definitely stay here. It’s a hidden gem.

The family that owns the guesthouse are very welcoming. The place is hard to reach due to the limited bus schedule but the view once you reach the guesthouse is satisfying. It has a homey ambience and you can cook your own meals and even have a barbeque. The room I stayed in is dorm type but I slept peacefully because my roommates are all considerate. Bathroom and toilet are all shared. I will definitely come comeback in the summer.
