요시다야 료칸

Have a very good tranditional onsen town experience during the stay. Enjoy the food and the onsen culture there.

This ryokan had everything one needs for a good trip to Zao Onsen. The food was amazing. However, the ryokan feels a bit old/dated, and the corridors are cold (in winter). The onsen/bath was slightly small and dated, so I would recommend going to the ryokan's sister hotel (Oak Hill) for a (free) bath instead.

Amazing, the staff are nice, the location is great and food was delicious. It's near two public bathhouse and they give free tickets. The lady speak English so there won't be a problem with foreign travelers. The place is a bit old given that its 350 years old from Edo period. Even so if you want to experience traditional and authentic Japanese Ryokan this is the place. Given a chance, I'll book the same place if I come back.

Although the facility is a bit old, it’s clean. More, for what you paid for, you get a pretty nice size room and a dinner and breakfast. You don’t have to worry anything, just walk in and enjoy.
