The reason for this is that the staff were very helpful although limitited in what they were able to assist with.
The room itself we could not really fault as it was exactly what we asked for and was clean and tidy. However the bathroom was a completely different story.
Dust hanging ouut of the extracter fan, asked for it to be cleaned twice and only on the last day of a twoday stay did a handyman (staff description of person who attempted to remove the congealed dust from the extractor). He made such a poor attempt that at least half the dust was still their after and they had made no attempt to clean up the mess they hade made.
The walls and ceiling of the bathroom were dirty. I folded toilet paper, wet it and rubbed the areas that were dirty to find that the bathroom was easy to clean as the dirty readily transfered to the toilet paper. I have pictures of all this.
I also reported that the small bin in the bathroom was broken so all they did was place the broken lid back on top of the bin, without fixing it.
The hallways were partially blocked all day and night with the change of bedding and towels were just left outside our door and this was the same for other quests.
The kitchen area was totally inadeqate , as there was no facilities for a hot breakfast.
Breakfast was limited to a chose of 4 ceareals, fruit, yugurt, cold toast, and a choice fof 3 meats.
It was that bad we went in search of a local establishment that could provide a hot breakfast.
However when we needed our luggage to be looked after this was not a problem and staff were more than accomadating.
However when needing access to local transport we were quoted £45 to travel 2 two and a half miles, if we requested a taxis from the hotel.
However after walking a short distance we were able to access a taxis rank within easy walking distance. The fare ended up under half the quoted cost.
