Nishihonganji Temple Monbo Kaikan

Staying here was not only comfortable but also a really nice experience. We stayed in a Japanese-style room with very comfortable futons. Although it wasn’t mentioned in the description and we were a bit worried at first, the room actually had a private bathroom. We also received Japanese bathrobes for each night we stayed, which was very exciting. There’s a nice restaurant on the underground floor—we had dinner there once and also enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The prices are reasonable, and you can pay by card. I also had the chance to attend a morning prayer session. You don’t need to register in advance, and it was a really calming experience. It felt perfectly fine to simply observe others without feeling awkward. Definitely recommend!

We booked here since there was a mistake with the dates of our bookings (we had one day without accommodations). We booked the night before. We went there at 10:00AM the day after and the staff were very nice to take care of our bags while we went around the city. Since the checkin is at 3:00PM, we felt at ease knowing that we won’t have to go to a locker. The room is very Japanese, with a futon and tatami. There were sliding doors as well. The breakfast (included in our booking) was exceptional.
