I recently spent two weeks at the Royal Manotel and, while there were a few positive aspects, the overall experience fell short of expectations. Room Condition and Cleanliness The room itself was spacious, and the towels and linens were consistently clean. However, the décor felt dated, with a heavy 1980s aesthetic—dark colors, worn furniture, and an overall “shabby chic” look that has not aged well. The couch, in particular, appeared unclean that I resorted to placing bath towels over it before sitting. The room would benefit greatly from a comprehensive refresh. Gym Facilities The gym was the most disappointing part of my stay. Several machines—including the rowing machine, stationary bike, and elliptical—were not functioning when I first attempted to use them. When I contacted staff, they were unable to identify the issue. The next day, the front desk assured me that the equipment was working, and offered to escort me to the gym. While the stationary bike had been coaxed back into operation, the elliptical remained unusable. A day later, the stationary bike had stopped working again. It became clear that the equipment required more than a temporary “reset.” Much of it was old, heavily worn, and in need of replacement. The universal machine had torn cushions, and the stationary bike’s handlebars were so degraded that the metal was exposed. After several attempts to get the equipment working, I stopped asking. Restaurant and Bar In contrast, the restaurant and bar were excellent—well-maintained, modern, and offering a level of quality that stood in stark contrast to both the room décor and the gym facilities. The difference was striking. Overall Impression While the staff were polite and attempted to assist, the condition of the room furnishings and especially the gym made the stay unsatisfactory. Given the inconsistency between the public spaces and the guest facilities, I cannot recommend the Royal Manotel and do not plan to return
