Hakone Hoshi No Akari

Didn’t regret choosing here for our trip. The staff made us feel so welcomed and at home. The traditional breakfasts and dinners are what we look forward to everyday as well. The room was spacious with plenty of space for the futons and our luggages. There were daily midnight snacks provided too. It was awesome having the onsen in the room itself. But do note that the shower is at the balcony itself so I did wish there was slightly more cover as the view is opened to the golf course below. There’s also no elevators, so it was quite a climb to the 3-storey where our room was located. Overall, it was an excellent stay and I will not hesitate to choose to stay here for my next visit to Hakone!

Good value for money when compared to other options when we were looking. We thought it was nice - food was good and a unique experience, the private onsen in our room was great and the service was excellent! Very friendly staff that tried to make the experience special for us, which we appreciated. We would recommend!

The location is a bit far from the Yumoto station and Odawara station, and there is a distance of 600m from the nearest bus stop. It will be a bit difficult for those who carry a big luggage to walk towards the hotel. However, the hotel is really worth the money and the private bath in each room is really a plus. The dinner and breakfast is Japanese style meal. The meals are delicious and looks appetising.

An amazing wknd getaway from the bustling cities life. We got to experience our first ryokan stay in Hakone and it was wonderful. Staffs were attentive and this location was peaceful.. it was over an hour bus ride to get here in a zig zag road but we manage to make it. Not all the staff can speak English and it creates some miscommunication so be cautious when booking for “additional” services. Must utilize the translation apps when miscommunication occur. Breakfast and dinner was phenomenal.
